The Last Battle between Good and Evil came and went, but the world didn’t end like it was supposed to. Life goes on, more or less. New Valenar is the greatest city in the land, however little that means nowadays, built out of the ruins of an elven metropolis. Surviving on its streets is hard enough for a teenage girl, and Lynn has almost given up when the Beast begins preying on the homeless. She’s not much of a hero. Not yet.

It’s post-apocalyptic dark fantasy and possibly other popular keywords. It has originated in multiple Dungeons & Dragons campaigns I’ve run over the years, so you may well notice some familiar concepts there. However, the larger D&D mythos is just an inspiration, so don’t expect everything to stay the same.

I should also say that despite a teenage protagonist, it’s not a kids’ story. In fact, I’ve already been told it’s bleak. Drug use is featured, for one, and violence is bound to happen from time to time.

The story doesn’t yet have a name. I do have names for the epic trilogy that would follow it, if I actually can manage that. Make of it what you will.

This is my first foray into serialized fiction. I’ll try and work out a regular update schedule, but I’ve always been lousy with such things.
